GQ Australia - “This Kiwi company will build you a pint-sized Irish pub in your backyard”

“If there's one thing that the last 18 months has taught us, largely through depravation therapy, is that having a good pub within walking distance is one of life's true luxuries. Degustations and award-winning cocktails are fine every now and then, but there are still few things that match a good set of mates around you and the prospect of sinking a few schooners with reckless abandon.

Of course, for a good portion of last year, this was entirely out of the question. In the UK, pubs have only just re-opened after over a year of on-and-off dormancy. And this gave New Zealanders Steve Rosling and Gary Altenburg an idea.

Both commercial interior designers, the two had an idea to build a pre-fabricated mini pub that could not only be replicated relatively cheaply, but also transported around for hire at functions. Thus, the pair's first pub, T. O’Loughlin’s (named after Altenburg's father-in-law) was born, with essentially all the fittings of a true irish pub in a package the size of a shipping container.”
